MG MGF Technical - Sticking Rear Caliper

Both my rear discs are showing signs of un-even wear. The outer surfaces are ok, but the inner ones have only about 50-60% contact, which, to me, is a sign of the calipers sticking on the slider pins.

I need to have a closer look and check out the slider pin boots, but does anybody know if there is a replacement kit available for the boots & pins if the latter are pitted?

Tony do they make a kind of screach when you are reversing if so then mine must be the same .
Got ome carbon pads to go in !
Lister

Lister,

No. Everything else is ok, except that with full pad coverage the braking would be that more efficient.

Just spent the afternoon stripping off the calipers and pads. The fitted pads are Delhi Lockheed, and assuming they are the correct ones (fitted when I bought the car) they should be of sufficient quality.

Numbers on the back of the pads are "9R 01118/193 00051233 0880 DU" .....if that means anything to anybody !

Searched the archives and found a part number 'LP 06513', though that relates to front pads, which may or not be the same, and may refer to a 'pad set'.

Both inner pads showed signs of only part surface contact, and were extremely tight in the caliper slots.
Still plenty of life in them though.

The caliper slide pins and boots were fine - no evidence of sticking or corrosion.

So, refitted pads, adding a little brake grease to the location faces of the pads backing plates.

Once they have resettled in, I'll do some heavier braking and then have another look.
