MG MGF Technical - Stole me cds and cut me roof - need Help
Hi guys/gals, Just got back from gr8 holiday - tour of spain and eng vs croatia in Portugal - only thing is few probs: 1. mY new battery is completey dead 2. Theives cut through me soft top to steal all cds in glove compartment. Questions: where can i get new hood and recommended people to fit in london ? They've only cut through the side section just above door release, but i figure you have to replace whole lot. is it possible my alarm went off so much it flattened my new battery ? J. ps the contribution people make to these boards is fantastic - i dont think that gets said enough. And thats not me just brown nosing. ENGERLLLLLLLLLLAND |

Jimmy, I don't know any places in London but don't know if you can get up to Baldock to Brown & Gammons - it's just up the A1 for you probably - or A10 and left at Buntingford. Just do a google search for Brown and gammons as I can't remember the url of the top of my head... They can do hoods for you no problem... Hope this helps. Chris |

There is also Car hood warehouse http://www.carhood.com/ who do both std roofs and the glass rear screen roof. Never used them but they are based in london and offer a mobile fitting service. Tom |

Jimmy, regarding your battery, how long were you away ? |
Mike (London Office) |
i was away for 12 days. i was also wondering i usually use my car everyday no problems.........i fixed a cd player a bout a year ago which just requires me to put on the fascia and it comes on.......even without the fascia is it possible my stereo is still using power ? |

Jimmy, F's do have a penchant for flattening batteries when standing idle for a couple of weeks, 12 days appears excessively short though, I suggest you check the archives as this has been brought up before, a check on the drain of the battery might show up something. Mike |

cheers mikey, i have an automatic alternator tester you connect to the battery........also have seen something about earth leads. this place rocks. |

Sounds like the alarm went off for too long and flattened the battery. I woulodn't worry just yet, but be aware, batterys don't like to be run flat, so you may find it doesn't hold charge properly, you probebely won't find this out till winter comes around. And remember - always double lock |
