MG MGF Technical - Stupid question about door mirrors

My door mirrors are fading.

Or rather the plastic coloured bit.

How best to restore the vibrant red that they once were?
Toby Yentl

Good question I was going to say back to black but then figured may be not as they are body colour how about cutting the paint the only thing is may be coated in some thing else on top. To be frank aint got a clue.
Patrick Beat

It says on the bottle of T-cut I've got not to use on plastic surfaces. But I'm tempted to give it a go, anyway.

Thanks for your honesty, though, Patrick.

Toby Yentl

A dab of Autoglym polish and a good hard rub brightened up the strip at the top of my windscreen that was starting to lose its shine and it should be gentler than T-Cut.
Otherwise, I might be tempted to chance it that even an incompetent spraypainter like meself might be able to spray an area that small without making too much of a disaster.
Steve Madden

Now could be a good time to fit the chrome covers from Brown and Gammons!
Kevin s

having same prob with the door handles. maybe its a red thing!

Don't use T-cut on metalic to try and bring colour back - the t-cut will just cut thru the laquer and leave a dull finish.
