MG MGF Technical - Suplex Conversion

Has anyone on here fitted the Suplex Hydragas Conversion kit? I'm just about to do it to our sagging F, so some experiences could be useful.

Please let us know how it goes, its been reported that they "clonk". The hydragas has a noise damping effect so you may have always had thw clonk but it is no longer masked (per MGOC) but its this or TF subframes as sphere supplies dry up.

It's going well now. You're probably right about about the Hydragas damping out noise Stan. The clonking noises were largely due to one badly worn upper ball joint and three others that had just perceptible play. I also had a bit too much clearance in the tie-bar bushes, so I replaced them with polyurethane on both ends.
I get little bit of noise when I hit a pot-hole or a really rough bit of road in built-up areas but that might not be anything to do with the suspension, there's plenty of other things that seem to rattle on our cars! Out on the open road it is fine.
The ride with the Suplex system is quite smooth, almost like a saloon car. The damping is quite light but I think this is probably to spare the damper mountings. I have never driven a young MGF so I would be interested to know what the suspension was like originally and how it compares.
When we got our car, the Hydragas was almost completely knackered. The rear of the car had virtually no suspension at all and even with the front pumped up to the correct ride height, the rear would sit about 20-30mm too low. It was a horrible drive.
With the Suplex, I have set the suspension to the standard Trophy height and it stays there! No ups and downs and no problem getting a jack under it.
So far, I am very pleased with the spring set-up. The car is a pleasure to drive now and the tyres sit nice and square on the ground, so hopefully it shouldn't scrub the inside edges out. I'll keep you posted!

Thanks, really encouraging.

1,100 miles on the Suplex suspension and I am very pleased with it so far. Here are some pictures.

and another....

Ride height is set to 345mm front and 340mm rear.

and no matter how cold it gets, it will always be the same height!

Shortly after we got the car, with it still on Hydragas, and with the front wheels pumped up to the correct ride height, this is what the rear wheels looked like!
