MG MGF Technical - Switch bulbs

Does anyone know if the bulbs that illuminate the switches (window, heated rear etc) can be bought from anywhere? I know the bulbs come out easily and seem to be colour coded, yellow, orange.

Try this

www.superbrightleds.com

you can get some phunkey stuff for making the interior look good.

Or theres always Ripspeed at Halfords.

I know similar to the original _bulbs_ aswell from resellers/distribution only. Assuming LED' might be to large for the existing space and socket make.

The bulbs measures from aftermarket are
3,1 Ø x 6,5 mm, 6-12 V/20-40 mA
with wires amm 17 mm long

Are you fancying a colour change Kevin?
Rob Bell

Yes and no, I have a couple of bulbs go, one on the HRW switch and on on the rear fog, I have a spare front fog switch so I have fiddled around with the bulbs and now have a red rear fog, green/blue HRW with the warning on bit in yellow. As these bulbs are colour coded it would seem easy to change colour easily. If the dash bulbs are easily changed or even the same as the switch bulbs then Yes maybe a colour change (blue).

I have already ordered Blue LEDs for the mirror and footwell lights

Dash lamps are quite that easy - but still fairly straightforward - see http://www.mgcars.org.uk/carclub/mgfregister/temp/instruments/instrument_lighting.htm and http://www2.mgcars.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=mgbbs&mode=archiveth&archiveyear=69_2004.dat&subject=69&subjectar=69&source=T&thread=2004043013162829102

Richard did a fine job.

Other options include using a Lockwood fascia replacement, with which you can use fluorescent panels to provide the illumination you require (including cool blue)....

My blue LEDs turned up today, just fitted them, it took about 5 mins and that included taking the mirror apart - thanks fot the detail, Scarlet. They look great, can't wait for it to get dark!!!

I an definately doing the rest of the lights now!!!
