MG MGF Technical - TF front subframe brace

I'm thinking of fitting these parts on my modified F as I've now got all TF subframes & suspension, but not the cross-brace bars. I've found some parts listed at the local MGR parts department but am not sure if I need all or some - there are two LH braces and two RH braces.
KGZ000040 Brace - front subframe - qty 1 - RH £24.41
KGZ000060 Brace - front subframe - qty 1 - RH £23.62
KGZ000050 Brace - front subframe - qty 1 - LH £46.26
KGZ000070 Brace - front subframe - qty 1 - LH £23.62
Can anyone (Dieter?) clarify what's required?
Mike Cunningham

I have the brace fitted to my F with solid subframe mounts and would recommend it car is much more solid at the front and scuttle shake has gone! My parts came from a breaker though as they don't wear out it should be no problem.

No clarification, only official figures from the EPC.

I'm sorry I've no sense on what might be the difference in the flash. Only the figures on p/n change.

Anyone knowing what happened at VIN 3D618326 on ?
Dieter

All parts (and a picture) are available at http://www.vehiclehandlingsolutions.com/page3.htm

Does anyone have an address for VHS? Their stuff looks good, but no address and only a mobile phone number makes them a bit risky to deal with.
Chris

Errm, they were real when I talked to them in 2005.
Does this count ?

I have used their stuff and found them easy to deal with but loooking back it was in 06.

VHS Kit of braces includes dash brace which requires dash removal and welding to fit. M
uch easier to fit is the subframe brace which will bolt onto your existing subframe / body.
I'm guessing but the change in part numbers was probably a change of supplier rather than a design change.
Still don't see the issue with using a second hand brace. You can buy complete secondhand subframes for less than the price of the two braces listed here, usually with the mounts included.
Dave

Mike one of the two bars you require is listed on Ebay item number 140207721365 and its a new one!

I can thoroughly recomend VHS, Andy, Wayne and Alan found themselves out on a limb when MG Rover collapsed and they were three of the 6100 left out in the cold. They have decades of experience in designing/developing all of the MG and Rover suspension systems seen over the last couple of decades and have agreater knowledge on these cars systems than anyone else. They were previoulsy forced to work inside the constraints of the company limits and legislative strangle holds that the company was required to operate with, but that doesn't mean they were not able to push the boundaries as far as development was concerned, even if customers would never see it.

When they left Longbridge they had this vast databank of information and were ideally placed to use this for products that went beyond the standard product and we are seeing some of these developments using quality components (Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs) that is almost all cases were used in development but eliminated by the bean counters as far as production cars were concerned. Now they are free to sell some of their extensive work for our benefit, and it does what it says on the box. Only items that they know work are offered for sale.

Being as there skills are in demand from motor manufacturers they have not had the time to set up shop in a conventional way, but in this case that doesn't mean there is anything fly by night.

I commissioned them to do the TF Comfort Handling Kit back in 2005 as I felt there was a need, and it also gave them a product order to help them get going. The fact that these are so effective mens that we keep them busy with resupply orders for MGOC Spares.

Roger,
Many thanks for the vote of confidence! As you say, Alan and myself are rather busy supporting the Chinese in their endeavours with Roewe and MG brands - which will hopefully be of interest to everyone in the near future.
We are always happy to offer advice via the website or phone and often welcome customers to our base in Worcestershire - just up the road from Shelsley Walsh Speed Hillclimb.
Best regards,
Andy
