MG MGF Technical - TF headlights

Iam interested in your comments.

The amount of light generated by the TF lights is far superior than the "F"
Howver if I compare the lights on my Ford Focus and XR8 I find that they light up the road far ahead of the TF.

With the TF Lights I Get a hard edge the lights light uop an area ahead then abruptly stop. I drive into blackness. the lights penetrate forward to an abrupt straight line into blackness no blending in. The end result is that the abnility to drive at speed at night is severely curtailed un less on high beam.

Comments please

Kind regards

Does the Focus use projector type lights? I have a similar effect on my bike lights.

Solution: drive at a speed that matches the distance you can see to stop in (tongue in cheek).

2nd Solution: make night driving an adventure by guessing what is 10m in front of your light beams.

David, probably the only solution to improve the distance at which the lamps project is to alter the beam height. But this is, I think, a common 'feature' of TF lamps - they all seem to have that dramatic cut off. I don't know whether there is a solution or not - probably not.

Might brighter/different bulbs help?
