MG MGF Technical - Thank you
I posted a thread at the end of January as I had another HGF within ten months of the previous one. Took my MGF into a rover dealership who said (a) the previous garage had put sealant into the coolant tank which could have caused HGF and (b) there was no sign of skimming of head, as detailed in invoice of previous garage. On the kind advice of Rob Bell, Patrick Beet, Sam Murray etc., I challenged the previous garage with legal action, and without any trouble, received a full refund of the costs I'd had to pay the Rover dealership. Thank you all for your kind advice. |

Sounds as though you've had a great result there Sarah - what a relief! I hope you can get back to enjoying your MG in the way it was intended: driving! :o) |

Some of these garages are very dodgy! Well done Sarah and the MG crew |

Sarah In case you are not aware, always keep a light throttle and revs below 3000 rpm until the oil temperature has more or less reached its full running temperature. It's hard with such an eager engine, but this should ensure that head stays on. Happy MG'ing Pete |
