MG MGF Technical - To any user of X-power springs...

Some time has passed since the first X-power springs have been fitted.

There is any sign of wear in the tyres due to the lower ride height?

And how many workshop time did you pay for fitting them (all the 4)?

Next summer I would like to mount those springs (no money till then!!! :( , so I'm not in a hurry, but very interested.

Tx in advance.

Hi Jose,

my tyres look OK after 6000km with the XP springs, although I haven't had the tracking done after fitting... (That's just because I don't like the tyres currently fitted and I won't be sad to see them go !)

I fitted the springs myself. I don't remember exactly how many hours it took me, and unfortunately I'm not yet making bills to myself, so I cannot check ! It was about 7-8 hours I think ?? But for sure an experienced mechanic with professional tools will do it in half of that time.

Hi :) i would like fit this springs on my TF :) i am interested to have the impression by power users :)

TX, Fabrice, I did'nt expect less of you. I'm thinking very seriously to pay you the trip expenses and the 7 hours bill if you come to Valencia to put them in. Probably it will be cheaper tan the local MGR dealers, hahaha.

Any other opinion?

drop the labour charges, the trip will be just enough ;o)

Honestly, it's not a difficult job, it's only a matter of "remove old springs & refit new ones".

Likewise, I fitted mine myself, not the easiest thing to do as access is a bit limited, also the top allen key can be a pain in the A**e! I also havent had mine retracked yet, but there is definately some wear on the inside edge of the front tyres, need to get it sorted out. Although I find the difference fantastic, would buy them again tomorrow if I had too!

IIRC, it's only the top nut of the rear left damper that is a pain in the A**e to unscrew... ?
