MG MGF Technical - torque rench setting on head bolts
20nm 180 whatnm ? 180 what nm setting on rench? the question is what newton meter torque setting should the rench be set at to aviod damage to head bolts, whilst doing 180 turnes? there must be a nm figure used by rovers machines in the production line? |

Do you really need three threads about the same thing? |

Possible that even Mr Griffiths realised that calling people 'dummies', '**** poor jelly heads' & 'gutless idiots' was likely to limit their willingness to respond, and felt his only course of action was to re-post. There is considerable discussion of this in the archives, notably one where Dave Andrews comprehensively explains the reason why in the final tightening sequence of a stretch bolt the torque is largely immaterial, and that degrees of turn are a more accurate way of ensuring even clamping force. |

<< Do you really need three threads about the same thing? >> Yes and then he has the gall to advise Darren J on his earlier post about his CAT, that he is posting in the wrong section. Pot and Kettle comes to mind! 8-/ |
