MG MGF Technical - Trophy brakes how to fit

All. I have a black piece of metal and I am unsure where it fits to the front discs. It looks like it is supposed to go between the pads and clip under the pins and over the pads but one end fits and the other misses the metal part of the pads. Hard to explain and I cannot look at the old brakes as I am converting. Any pictures would be helpful.

Is it a thin piece of metal shaped like the pads, if it is, it could be an anti rattle shim but if you are upgrading to Trophy brakes I would presume these are bigger and therefore your old one wont fit.

Chris, I am upgrading. It is a flatish looking piece of metal. It is not the same shape as the brakes
