MG MGF Technical - Tyre wear uneven on front
The two front tyres Goodyear Eagles F1,are now on their fourth set as they scrub the hell out of the insides on both . The car has been tracked too many times to mention on all 4 wheels. 2 years ago I hit kerb with offside front in snow (you can steer a sledge in the snow but not an MGF!!!!!!!!!) The car is driven carefully ( old man style ) as live in North Wales where 100mile drive you could clock 4 mobile speed cameras 4 police cars and fixed speed cameras. Rest of tyre looks like new.Car does not pull to either side. |

Kate Have the suspension ride height and have a reputable techie check for worn suspension parts. Do not use Kwik Fit. TH |

Checking the ride height is a start but you need to get the wheel alignement checked once the ride height has been set, it is not just a matter of getting the front tracked with these cars you need to get the 4 wheel alignement checked. This is the tracking plus the alignement of the front to the back. If this is set correctly your car will drive better and your tyres last longer. |

check out the suspension bushes .. have the poly ones fitted ... drives like a new car then .... about £45 for the set (front)...I didn't get he rear done ...as seems ok .. but I did have tyre wear |

I had tyre scrubbing for ages a few years back and got sick of replacing the fronts. 3 years ago I paid around £50 for 4-wheel laser alignment and have never had the problem since. When I changed all my tyres a few months ago I went to a centre that offered laser alignment too (SE Tyres). It's really worth the extra charge. |
