MG MGF Technical - Urgent help needed

Hi all
My passenger drivers window failed this morning. I lowered it fully all the way down but when I went to close it it only travelled part way up but it lowered fully.
I have since stripped the window mechanism down but and i have come to the conclusion the motor has failed my reasoning for this is with window motor connected to the loom and the window motor outside the vehicle i tried the switch but the teeth on the motor did not spin as this is just a motor i would have expected the sprocket with the teeth on to turn.

Does anyone know the part number for the motor and a cost if poss any feed back would be much appreciated
thanks

Just an update
the teeth in the internal cog have worn through hence the reason for the part way up scenario so I definitely need a motor are these motors genereric to MGFS or can I use a standard rover motor?

I suspect that the motor is generic Rover fair. You could try getting some quotes for replacement second-hand motors from the MGF breakers, MGF Centre and Midlands MGF.

TBQH, not heard of this problem before, so the chances that a nearly new motor would have the same problem seem unlikely to me.

Thanks Rob
The actual motor is MGF specific it also costs from the dealers £135 + VAT but that does include the regulator which incidently is surplus to requirements. I Phoned a breakers and they will do me one for £50 + Vat not bad so its off to the breakers.

The annoying thing is is the sprocket with the teeth inside the motor is Nylon so the splines have worn down they should have made it out metal, probably another Rover cost cutting exercise

I wonder if Nylon cogs are also quieter? Might be the reason why these are nylon rather than metal? Anyway, 50 quid sounds like a good saving Steve - go for it. :o)

nylon doesn't rust either, not a bad price £50,good you got it sorted thougb,Dave.
