MG MGF Technical - VVC K Series Engine Clinic.
Got my copy of CAR MECHANICS in the post today. Always a good read for anyone who likes to work on their cars. There's a well illustrated four page Engine Clinic feature on the K series VVC engine. JMcF. |

That's interesting... By anychance you could scan it and upload on the an website or something? :-) It's rather difficult to get that mag in NZ. Thanks for the information though! Regards, HAnah |

Hanah Kim, Be delighted to help but dont have the technology. You could contact CAR MECHANICS direct (usually very helpful) email: cm.info@kelsey.co.uk website:www.kelsy.co.uk Maybe cheaper to have them send you a copy of the issue involved : November 2002 (cost in UK 3.00 UKP) + postage. Annual Subscription in UK 31.00; Rest of World 44.00 UKP (sometime includes offers/extra issues etc). The only Motoring Mag I suscribe to. Plenty of useful DIY and other stuff presented in an informative way to appeal to anyone who likes to work on their cars and save a few quid at the same time ....... :) HTH JMcF. |

John, glad you like the article;-) Mike. |

What exactly does the clinic article cover? The Car Mechanics magazine is unavailable in Norway as well, but everything that describes the vulnerable K-engine and its problems is useful to know. Would be really nice if somebody would scan the pages and present it on a webpage. |
Jon |
Jon, the article covers the strip down of the VVC engine, handy tips for reassembling and VVC problem areas. The article does not cover stripping the VVC mechamisms as this would have required more time and magazine space and IMO requires a article on its own. HTH. Mike. |

Mike Satur well done. I have received a scanned copy through my email box, thanks Pete! :-D Jon, if you want a copy send me your email address. I will forward you the email that I got. |

No problem! :-D All sent to people who have requested through the BBS and through my email addresses. |
Hanah Kim |
Hanah, could you please forward the email to me as well ? Thanks a lot ! Fabrice |

Sorry but I don't intend to wine, could you guys see this download as a free preview, it would be a shame if the magazine canned this sort of well informed project because it didn't sell any more mags! Will |
Will Munns |
Fabrice sent. Hi Will. It's true I was going to say somethnig about it. Most of the requests were from overseas (from UK) so I thought it was reasonable. But people in UK, if you like it please purchase the magazine rather than printing it off. Thanks |
Hanah Kim |
>Most of the requests were from overseas (from UK) so I thought it was reasonable. I saw that too, hence the toned down response, but the mag is quite good, and I bet they deliver overseas Will |

Will ,your comments stirred some emotion for me;-) Car Mechanics have done a great job on the MGF and did not take any persuasion to run these series of articles in fact they approached me with the idea. However the other two MG mags are a different matter and don't always want to run MGF articles like these. I know MGW are currently running one on the VVC but that was written nearly a year ago.MGE have a article this next issue but generally it is as though we were asking for the Editors' back teeth to be pulled. If I can make a suggestion e-mail your favourate magazine for more F/TF articles you want to read about or maybe we just start or own mag;-) Mike. |

They do indeed supply overseas. There is also a very useful back issue service or if stocks no longer available, supply photocopies of most archived articles. Used this service several times. No matter what car you drive, if you like doing some of the maintenance, service or renewal work on it then this mag has to be the most informative from any viewpoint. The readers queries/problems pages alone are worth the money. Many surprises there and much useful info gleaned. Recommended for any DIY enthusiasts. I have no connection with the publication except as a regular subscriber. You'll probably save a year's subscription from the savings the first time you do work on your car. I did. JMcF. |

Ok apologies to others who bought the magazine, and Mike Satur who practically wrote the article. No more free distribution. It was only done in good intensions. Please don't ask anymore... |
Hanah Kim |
I feel bad now :-( |
Hanah Kim |
Hanah, no apologies required but thanks for the thought, Mike. |

Hi all, maybee it is the other way around ? After reading the article (thanks Hanah) it seems that this magazine is well worth getting in the future and I will fill in the form for at least a first year. No way that mag. will be in any book-store or any other outlet over here so in fact the "apertizer" (sp?) was as good as any advertising ! PS. And for Mike; As it seems to be no "hands on " books around for the "F", maybee a collection of all the findings tru the years would make a very popular booklet ? We have to remember that the "F" in itīs original form is discontinued and we are all slowly moving into the classic MG gang ;) Think if Mike , Rog + material from various home pages like Dieterīs etc. would get together for such a book ! Just the kind of thing 2īnd and 3īrd owners of the "F" will need in the future..... A bit wishful thinking Carl. BR, Carl. |

Mechanics available overseas? I sent an e-mail to cm.info@kelsey.co.uk on Sunday requesting instructions about how to order a copy of the last issue. Haven't gotten any response yet... |
