MG MGF Technical - What kond of manifold is this

From the Brown & Gammons website:

ANyone know what this manifold is?
Bob Millar

no idea, is there ment to be a product at that page?
Will Munns

Bob, your direct link does not work. Can you get the image URL?

If it is an exhaust manifold, then B&G stock the Janspeed/PTP large bore manifold - as originally supplied for the 340R. This is the one that Kingsley has on his car - and is best suited to higher output engines (such as his).

The Janspeed system that Mike supplies is better for more standard specification engines that haven't had such extensive head work and replacement cams.

Sorry try the link above

The manifold on that engine is a standard Rover item. It is not the same manifold used on MGFs/TFs - probably the ones used in FWD applications.

Look at the Power Train web site - there are some more pix of this manifold on 1.6/1.8 litre engines. The manifold used on the F/TF is the same as the one pictured attached to the VVC...

Bob, that manifold looks very similar to a 200/ZR.
Rob, our manifold is designed for engines producing up to 190BHP with a more torquey(?) delivery ,engines producing above that usually need extensive internal modifications if they are to hold together. The Exige/340 manifold was a larger bore more suited to peakier higher output engines.
If you need any more information about our products please call.

Rob

interesting link!

notice the pics of the 100,000 kv6 engine produced?
it would have been a lot more if they had woken up and fitted it to the F
Neil

LOL Mike - the problems of internet comunications! You've made the same point I was making in reference to your manifold: yours is the manifold of choice to anyone who hasn't had their engine rebuilt to race specifications! ;o)

Oh well... ;o)
Rob Bell

Neil - agreed! ;o)

BTW - you can download their catalogue from their site. Lots of interesting data: the dimensional data of the engines themselves and the power curves...

You'd really really really want a KV6 in your F! ;o)
Rob Bell

Could someone paste the link to download the catalogue as i cant get it to work but if someone pastes it I can right click and do a save as

Power train's catalogue is here: http://www.powertrainltd.com/brochure/pt_brochure_product.pdf
