MG MGF Technical - Wheel size?
Can anyone tell me what size wheels will fit onto my 1996 MGF 1.8 without arch work? Hoping for 16's or 17's - what size tyres will I need? Cheers |

Hi Mark,i have 215/40/16 yoko's on mine and on full lock rub very slighly on arch but nothing to shout about, imagine 17's would rub more ,but have also had car lowered . Dave |

Thanks for your reply. Do you have the same size tyres on front and rear? As standard they are different, are they not? |

Mark, also note the rubbing is against a plastic arch, and it can be bent up using a hot air gun. Will |

Visit http://www.fernblatt.com/longhurst/tyre_bible.html for some good indications of how to calculate the tyre sizes to achieve the same rolling diameter. Bruce |

Hi, Mine is sitting on 17's,lowered with knuckles & has SPAX adjustable shocks.Have had no problem with rubbing,I think when setting ride height you just have to be carefull. If you want to meet at some point to inspect my car then give me an e.mail. Cheers, Duncan. |
