MG MGF Technical - wheels allignment (mgf=mgtf?)

Tomorning I went to my tyres shop to check wheels allignment.
The computer used to allign wheels did not contain datas about TF, so were used mgf data.
I said mgf has hydragas suspension and tf no but they told me "is the same".

Do you know if mgf data can be applied to tf or if this is a mistake? what this mistake can cause?

Wheel alignment data should be in your Owners Handbook which you received when you bought your TF.

If not, get the data from the MGR dealer where you bought the car.

cnerone, the TF tracking - especially the rear settings CAN NOT be transfered from MGF to TF.

Correct settings for the TF's tracking is found at http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/facts_and_figures/tracking_data.htm

In Summary:

TF front toe: 0º00' each wheel ± 0º06'
TF rear toe: +0º15' each wheel ± 0º06'

Rob,

are they official MGRover data?
or are they data used by wheel tracker men?

The people making tracking (wheel allignment) told me they don't applie official data because they use better data to obtain a better (more homogenous) tires usury.

Can it be right?

>>are they official MGRover data?

This is official tracking data for the TF - and SHOULD be used by those setting vehicle tracking.

>>The people making tracking (wheel allignment) told me they don't applie official data because they use better data to obtain a better (more homogenous) tires usury.<<

Whilst this may hold true for the MGF, you should know that the TF is a completely different case. Tyre wear is not an issue on the TF - and note that the front tracking is already set at 0º00' - a setting that we advise here on the BBS to remove tyre wear problems on MGFs!

How they can apply a "better data to obtain a better (more homogenous) tires usury" without ever having come across a TF before beats me! These guys are inexperienced with TFs - best therefore to use official TF tracking data.

Hope this helps!
