MG MGF Technical - WHERE 2 BUY?
Dear all, I have bought a TB 52mm that sadly enough was faulty. The spring was not pushing back the butterfly thouroughly. So now I am on the hunt for one. My question is if anyone knows where I can get hold of one. I have heard they are hard to get, but threre must be someone who sells them and have TB's 52mm in stock. Many thanks Philip |

| I might have a 52mm throttle body for sale. I've had it on my car for about a month but have just decided to trade for a TF so I was considering swapping it back for the plastic item. I'm open to offers, though availability is really subject to my TF delivery date. Darren. |

| If it's just the springs at fault why not take the springs off the old plastic one? Bruce |

Dear Mr. Caldwell, The old plastic one, seem to be different. So, I really need a new one! |

| Sorry Philip, I didn't think they would be different. I have replaced my plastic TB with a metal one but never compared the two units side by side. They looked very similar so I fell into the trap of presupposing! Of course, my metal TB is still 48mm so I guess the springs are bigger on the 52mm, doh! creeps away, head hanging... Bruce |

No harm done! The old TB, plastic one 48mm, had a better spring, two springs on each side pushing back. The new one I got from PTP for £112 52mm aluminium, only has a spring on one side, nevertheless it was broken so I had to return it. Will return it to Simon at PTP ASAP. A big hassle though. Well thanks anyway Bruce. By the way, what is the windowstopper thingie for the door/window serialnumber and where can I order it? I heard there is a new steel stopper? with 3 pieces, like washers and so forth. Any info on that would be appreciated. Cheers Phil |

| Phil, I guess you mean the window stop to prevent the electric window coming up too far. See the thread 'Window Stop' in MGF General Section. Part numbers are as below CUQ100140 Stopper Door Glass £1.72 CVT100090 Washer £0.11 SS105161 Screw £0.30 1 of each required per window. I just fitted one. You may have to adjust the window height once fitted. Checkout http://www.dotcomoff.demon.co.uk/ Good luck Bruce |
