MG MGF Technical - where does the VVC kick in
Just wondering if anyone knows exactly where on the rev scale, the vvc kicks in? |

It doesn't 'kick in' it comes on gently, so the effect is the engine just keeps pulling. I think over 4k, but only with the engine hot. |

Will got there before me but ... My VVC "kicks in" on the A414 every morning. |

Mine seems to start 'properly' at 3.5 k revs + although limiter stops at only 6.2k revs in 3rd which i found strange...it is 7k in 1st and 2nd... |

This doesn't exactly answer your question, but its good and very rare http://www.domainmonkey.co.uk/MGFKSERI2.mpg |

The vvc is working all the time. Has five cams, so doesn't jump like the Honda. |

I read that its constant as the cams adjust to give you the maximum air/fuel mix at any given point. Meaning that your car is more efficient and more powerful than a standard MGf so burns the same amount of fuel. It has a smoother power curve and max power to weight ratio is at about 6000 rpm.. i think? |
