MG TD TF 1500 - 5 Post Regulator

Anyone have a defective 5 post, screw terminal regulator they want to get rid of? Doing an alternator conversion and need to gut one and make it a junction block. Hate to ruin a perfectly good RB106!

Brian,

Not looking to get rid of my working regulator, just want to convert a dead one.

Hi Frank,

Photo of what I did to mine. With the cover on no one would know the difference.

I could probably find a scrap unit but it wouldn't be worth the transport costs from the UK to the States.

Jan,

Thanks for the offer and picture. Found one locally, modified it and installed with the alternator today.

Hi Frank,

I took a thick wire straight from the alternator to the fuses under the dummy regulator cover and then from the fuses to the switch contacts on relays for the headlamps, horns and electric fan. I used the original switched circuits for the headlamps and horns to operate the coils in the relays. For the fan the coil was wired to the radiator thermostat.

Have a good weekend

Can someone on this site (administrator or whoever may know) advise me why I am only permitted to view 1 or 2 images , then no others will come up! It's been like that since about a year now and in fact I first noticed when Frank C. first showed us his lovely grey TF months ago. Very frustrating to say the least. I clicked on the first image and saw his car, clicked the second and saw it, clicked again and none came up and could not get any more pics up. It happens the same way every time, I can see 1, then no more. Sure would be nice to see ALL the images!

Be sure you are closing one image before opening a second. You can only view one at a time. The last one opened will remain until you specifically close it.If you want to view multiple images, save them off to your disk, then open as many as you like.
