MG TD TF 1500 - Abingdon Spares TC/TD/TF Door Safety Catch

I ordered these door safety catches from Abington Spares and as you can see the finish is substandard, no it's junk. I called and talked to a representative and told him my issue. He stated, "yes we are working with the manufacturer on the finish issue" .....silence..... I say, I really don't want to put this on my car and he said fine send it back. I ask if he could email me a shipping label and he says let me see and says no. So I ask are you going to include the shipping in my refund and he says no.....silence.....I tell him I'll just keep it and never buy from Abington again and he says ok, bye. These are $58.95 plus $8.85 shipping so they expected me to pay $17.70 for a part they new was substandard when they sent it to me. Never again will I do business with this company.

Thanks for the replies, I was going to order them FTFU but they had a bolt I needed and figured they all came from the same supplier; boy was I wrong.

The gentleman I spoke with wasn't rude, just indeferrent and didn't care.

My problem is I'm going to have close to $20 bucks shipping in a part they knew was sub par when they sent it.

I buy hardware like that from boat/sailboat dealers. Chrome brass of higher quality. Yes, it usually costs a bit more. PJ
