MG TD TF 1500 - Any pattern?
Looking at the TTalk Register list http://www.ttalk.info/MersonTDList.htm Does anyone know if there was a pattern or rhyme/reason on if LH VS RH steering cars were produced on the line? Early TD's seem to mostly RH, with just the occasional one LH car being produced. Later, the numbers seem to be about the same, and then LH seems to be more. |

Early run would have been during the “export or die” period..no exports = no raw materials to produce. The Brits were desperate for hard currency post war. Regards, Tom |

Odd, my car TF8353 isn't on the list and I registered it a few years back. PJ |

You're on the list, Paul. (http://www.ttalk.info/TFList.htm) Don't forget to refresh your browser. Bud |

Tom. I have heard that about the more exports the more steel. Interestingly, many of the early cars are in Australia. I wonder if it was easier shipping to Australia at that time. |

Maybe LHD vs RHD were built for the most pressing orders? Australia was very much a car-starved market after the war whereas America maybe needed to be introduced to the TD before the orders came in? |

Thanks Bud, My whole computer went through a total clean-up and reset, the browser was probably the culprit. |
