MG TD TF 1500 - Arnolt heater complete/parts wanted
I’m looking for a complete Arnolt heater or any spare bits to build a complete setup for TD/c-8151. This would include the theostat switch, mounting brackets for the switch and heater box, knobs, doors, box, cores, etc. no part is too small to be considered. I can be contacted directly at the link above Thanks Bill Chasser TD-4834 |

Bill - It isn't an Arnolt, but it is an Arnolt style heater if you are interested. Cheers - Dave |

Ben Cordsen in Colorado restores them, contact him. Google for his artist webpage, I think contact info is there. George |

Bill, I ditched my working Arnolt for a modern Mohave that actually produces heat! Do you want originality or heat? Think it over while it's easy to install. I too have an Arnolt you could buy but I won't be back home for another 3 or 4 weeks. Ed |

Thanks everyone thus far. I will respond to all in few more days Ed I’d prefer something more period. I have a Bosch unit that looks much like a Smiths that was in another MKII i have. But dad’s had an Arnolt in his and would like to put it back as it was delivered to him for no other reason than that. Has pieces or whole units please contact me directly at the above address |

Bill, what is the theostat switch? I have a fully rebuild Arnolt ready to drop into my TD. It has the mounting bracket and the pipe to add into the branch pipe hose. I need a period heater switch. Also, is there a consensus on what is the correct paint color for an original Arnolt? |
Bruce Cunha |
Bruce. It should have read rheostat switch |
W A Chasser |
Ok, that makes it clear. I have a rheostat that looks like this. Anyone know if it will work for the heater? I assume it just controls the fan speed? ![]() |
Bruce Cunha |
Not sure, but that one looks like it might work, Bruce. However, if you want a complete illuminated switch, knob and bracket assembly, they make new ones that are virtually identical to those supplied with the Arnolt Heaters. Search on eBay for 'rat rod heater switch' and you'll find things like this one, which happens to be identical to the old one I got with my Arnolt:

Good info thanks Kevin for that one if I don’t find originals to work with Bill Chasser TD-4834 |

Hi Bii, I am not certain what the Arnolt looks like but brand new circular heaters are still available from Clayton Classics. They look like the original ones with the two door flaps. Jan T |

Bump. Still looking for complete or bits and pieces. Bill Chasser TD-4834 |

Bill, did you somehow miss Gary Krukoski's message in this thread? He said: "Also have several heaters surplus to my needs." I'd suggest contacting him! :) |
Kevin McLemore |
Hi Kevin. Yes I have been in contact with Gary. Tentatively set to buy two units. One complete and the second is not. So I’m still looking. Waiting for a ring and pinion to arrive as well for a future differential build Just thought I’d bump the thread back up to the top one more time. Bill Chasser TD-4834 |

What did Ben Cordsen say? |

What's the going value of a complete, excellent, Arnolt heater? I'm debating about re-installing mine. Bud |
Bud Krueger |
George. I haven’t been in contact with Ben yet. |
W A Chasser |
Bud I have no idea what it’s worth. As a buyer as little as possible. As a seller as much as possible. Reality somewhere in the middle. Contact me with additional info and pics if you decide to part with it |
