MG TD TF 1500 - Aust. 1954 TF value

I haven't seen the TF as yet, but I was told it has a MGA motor in it and is all together except front wings.
Owner has car in one location and other parts in another, but as I am off to Galapagos Is and Antarctica on weekend and he is unavailable until next week, I have to wait until I return before I can look at it.
Owner purchased the TF to restore, but now has no time to work on it.
I am thinking if not too much has to be done to get it going, I would be better off buying it to drive whilst I work on my TD.
Matthew & other, do you have any idea of value

Difficult to value without knowing the condition, Don is probably close. Could you let me know the chassis number please for my list of Aussie TF's?

Based upon what I paid for my TF I would not offer any more than $8K unless the interior was refurbished.

I agree.
I wouldn't pay any more than $8K for it. Imagine the cost to restore it if you had to send it out to others and you couldn't do it yourself.
Maybe once the owner saw the costs associated in the restoration he may have decided it was beyond his capabilities.

There are a couple of T series on the Hunter MG classifieds section web site, that might be a better proposition if you dont want to go thru the restoration process.

Stuart, I didn't read this thread because I don't have a TF so I often don't read such threads. Not because I'm not interested, more because I'm not knowledgeable on the issues.
Still, I have to complain:
