MG TD TF 1500 - Back of Battery Compartment Bumper
I found a rubber plug on Ebay that fits a 1/2 inch hole. Here is what they look like for the back of the battery compartment. I think they are just a bit smaller than the original. I am seeing if the supplier has one a little bigger. I got these on Ebay. They come 10 for 9 dollars. ![]() |

Those are very nice. I used the brake adjusting plugs on the brake drums for mine. Of course once a battery is installed it's impossible to tell what is back there. :-) |

Chris. Does the back of the brake adjusting plug fit into the hole or do you have to trim it? |
Bruce Cunha |
You have to trim it a bit because the lip is way too wide. |

Or you drill the hole slightly larger to accept the brake plug. |

I am comfortable with this plug, but there is some side to side movement in the hole. This is because the back of the plug is the same size as the hole, but it has a groove in it that allows it to move. I can simply put a bit of silicon adhesive on them, but I am also looking for a tighter fitting plug that does not require cutting the plug or the hole. Let you know what I find. |
