MG TD TF 1500 - Best hand cleaner?
Just a quick note, I've been using auto parts store hand cleaner for years (goop, etc) but a few months back I was in an industrial metal supply shop buying tubing and got my hands black handling the stuff. They had a sink in the back for cleaning and I used the hand cleaner they had and was amazed how good a job it did. I immediately bought some and have been impressed ever since - it's faster and does a better job cleaning than anything else I've ever used. It's called Kresto. Just a FYI... |

I use old fashioned swarfega but mix it with dry sand. It works really well and leaves your hands soft. Don't know if swarfega is available outside the UK - it is a green gel that you rub into your oily hands whilst they are dry and then wash with water. Jan T |

I use Boraxo and a hand brush when I have really grubby hands. Most often, I don't even use the brush. |

GoJo - love it. |

Best stuff I ever found, though it's getting harder and harder to obtain. It contains lots of good stuff for your skin so you don't dry and crack. Plus it's fantastic for getting oil and grease stains out of clothes! http://dreumex.com/us/products/hand-care/hand-cleansing/heavy-duty-traditional-cleaners/product/original_gent%E2%80%91l%E2%80%91kleen%C2%AE ![]() |

I use Kresto in my garage after having it recommended to me by many professional mechanics. Works great, my wife thinks it smells great. A bit expensive for the home user, though. I'm still on my first $30 bottle, so I don't know how long it lasts... |

Gojo orange is my newest hand cleaner. It removes pretty much everything I get on my hands. But then, I also use nitrile gloves pretty much all the time. Each day you are exposed to grease and petroleum products on your hands is a day closer to developing an allergic reaction to it. Seen mechanics with 20+ years working on cars walk into work one day and have an allergic reaction to grease/oil. Gloves are cheap protection. |

I'm with the Gojo gang! Been using it for years, no special reason, it cleans well, doesn't smell too bad and is available everywhere. Hands feel soft after using it. Use to use sand soap years ago, hated the stuff, but at the time it was the best around. PJ |

Well, for everyone who hasn't tried it, I recommend buying a small tube of Kresto and testing it out... IMHO it beats gojo to pieces... For one thing instead of abrasive grit it uses powdered walnut shells which seem to be both easier on the hands and more effective at getting out the dirt... |

Geoffrey. Sounds like a good suggestion. My GOJO is not a abrasive, I believe it is a citrus formula. It comes out clear. |

I second the gloves. Cheap latex exam gloves (if not allergic to latex) are great, nitrile maybe stronger but a pain to put on . A box of 100 is only about $9. George |

I get Nitrile from H Freight. But there are times where wearing gloves is a pain. PJ |

Anco in USA no longer available. The same company makes wiper blades. |

Near the best and certainly the cheapest is a 50-50 mixture of laundry soap and boraxo. |
