MG TD TF 1500 - Best Thoughts for Bill
Just learned that Bill Chasser has been hospitalized with a significant lung infection. He texted me yesterday that he was down with a respiratory issue, but it sounds like today he went in and was hospitalized with X-Rays showing pleural edema. |

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I appreciate your well wishes and concerns. I have no family anymore and so you all in the MG communities I frequent have become that family to me. You are appreciated.
LaVerne thank you for your concerns for Sarah and Maddie ( my Aussies). They are being cared for by a trusted neighbor. I’m thankful to be responding to you all as it was a very near death experience three days ago according to the ER team of dedicated Drs and RNs who saved me. It is a scary feeling to be suffocating while attempting to draw your last breathe and there is nothing to there to sustain you. The body’s Fight or Flight response takes over as it desperately struggles for oxygen. If not for being on a pressure ventilator while simultaneously being infusion both atomized and intravenous meds continuously for 8 hrs. I don’t think I’d be here now. But the bottom line is , Every breathe is truly God inspired! This all started a week ago as what I thought was a simple chest cold. Thinking it was just having too much fun driving my TD in the brisk air with the top down and no heat. But my condition changed quite suddenly and here I am at this point in life. Married to a hospital bed. Breathing on my own now but still very wet and weak It may or may not have been so severe except for a history of lung damage as a result of a firefighting career in my early adult life. Breathing of toxic and noxious gases, smoke particulates and superheated air prior to and just as SCBAs ( Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) were becoming a fire service standard. You knew you had done your job when you were drenched in soot, sweat, tears, and mucous. Any additional assault to my lung compacity exarcebates the problem. With an infection, congestion and pleural effusion it’s simply too much to overcome on my own. I don’t know when I’ll be able to return home. Soon I hope. In the meantime your prayers and support are greatly appreciated Sincerest Regards Bill Chasser TD-4834 TD/c-8151 |

Hello everyone. Fortunately I was able to return home today. I’m very weak, tire easily simply walking 50’. Im physically and emotionally drained from the experience. I now have supportive breathing machine that atomizes albuterol and other meds. So I am getting the same delivery method as I was getting at the hospital. My girls were crying and so happy to see me again. Truth be told I was crying too.
I’ve still got a long haul ahead of me to recovery. I am also to go back for an echocardiogram to look my heart function. If I worsen I’ll be back in the hospital but for now I’m happy to be home with my fur-kids. Bill Chasser TD/c-8151 |

Be sure to pay careful attention to heart function. Lung and heart problems go hand in hand.
Last October my dad was hospitalized for a week with pneumonia and is now on Oxygen, (89 years old). He was feeling very worn down until they started treating his heart condition. He had a sight arrhythmia (it runs in the family) that got much worse in November. They shocked him into a better rhythm and he now has double or triple the energy and endurance he had a year ago. Take care of the vehicle you're in.... at the moment.... you. |

Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers. Not much improvement thus far. Spent yesterday in multiple consults by phone with my GP, pulmonary and cardiac specialists and nurses. More meds, diagnostic tests and a trip to the Cardiac Cath Lab is being scheduled. Bill Chasser TD-4834 |
