MG TD TF 1500 - Better Quality Gaitors

I need to replace the steering rack gaitors on the TF (and MGA). Are there better-quality gaitors available (better than Moss)?

NAPA...made for the MGB but will work on your TF. More of a poly material that should last a great deal longer than the crap rubber we get these days. I'd have to do some digging to get you a part number.

I'd think that any of the UK suppliers who were sourcing rubber components from anywhere but South East Asia would be the go. I have a number of specific rubber components on my "Moss parts to avoid list". I'd add the steering rack gaiters. That brings the total to 70. Cheers

LED, am I correct that if the NAPA will work on the TF, they will work on a TD?

I just did this on my TF a couple of days ago.

I can't comment on the quality of the rubber, or if an MGB ones fit , but I had trouble with one supplied by a local MG distributor. He said TD/TF & MGA were the same, but the one he supplied had a inside Diameter ( of the large end ) of 40 mm or 1"9/16th, Whereas the outer Dia of the TF rack is 52mm or 2"1/8.

There was no way the it was going to stretch that far.

I got one the correct Dia from another supplier,who had 3 on his shelf ,all supposerly TF ones,but 2 were 40mm , one 50mm.
