MG TD TF 1500 - Carburetor leak

Sorry for the picture being sideways in advance. I couldn't figure out how to make it right side up. I just replaced all the seals for the choke or what Moss calls the jet bearing kit. I got the front to stop leaking but the back is still seeping from the top of the bolt under the aluminum washer. (I am pointing at the problem spot with an ice pick) So the cork seal seems to be leaking. Any advice? Also probably unrelated to the leak, Moss sells the original cork jet seals (2 each) or they have replacement O-Rings instead if the cork. I tried the O-Rings first with no leak but I could hardly pull the choke cable. It was like the rubber was dry and binding up on the shaft/jet. Anybody have a similar story?

Did yo8u soak all the cork seals in oil for a few days before installing? It certainly makes a difference, in flexibility and longevity.

It will probably be easiest to get new cork seals, soak them in oil, and then do the job over again. Sorry.

I replaced the cork seals (Moss) a number of years ago on my TF. Removing and installing carbs on the TF was eventful. When done the leak moved to the front carb.
I soaked the cork rings etc. If I remember correctly I installed one of the seals upside down or the refit just worked. No issues in the last 8 years.

Peter, is the spring not in place as you are still working on the seal issue?

Tom I've had no issues since reinstalling the cork seal.
