MG TD TF 1500 - Compression sealer

Anyone ever hear of this stuff. I found a case of them.
NEW OLD STOCK

Seems like wax and graphite you put in the gas tank.
Not that I am going to use it, I just rebuilt engine.

Cool can

Interesting
Actually reading the can it says share equally between cylinders ( in through the sparkplug holes) --not in the fuel tank
I think I'd be tempted to just sit the tins on the shelf and look at them

I wonder if that guarantee is still valid?

Glad to see that typos aren't just a modern phenomenon - "value grinding"

Yep, as Willy says, just sit it on the shelf - between the snake oil and the blinker fluid.

I can just about remember this stuff. I think there was another variant that was squeezed from a tube, similarly through the spark plug hole. Bit of a desperate measure I would think. A curiosity now and best left on the shelf.

I did state it goes in gas tank. I was wrong. goes on spark plug hole on a hot engine.
Here is another shot of a flyer that came with these.
I only need a couple for display. I will have to find someone that might pay.
How much ? Maybe the can price plus shipping.

I like the graphics and letters from " the scientist " fun reading.

Many years ago maybe around the year 1949 my father took his barrel lawnmower which had a two stroke Villiers engine to the local mechanic for repair. The mechanic tested for compression and found it to be very low. To fix the problem he poured castor oil down the plug hole ( the amount I cannot remember) and fired the engine. It started around on the third try fixed the problem by gumming up behind the rings. This of course is not the normal use of castor oil.
Disclaimer....don't do this at home or the smoke from the exhaust will envelop your neighbours (ask me how I know?)
