MG TD TF 1500 - Curious

Declan, in your reply to Bruce's thread about Jubilee clamps you posted the image below. I'm curious to know what the shiny cross bar next to your thermostat housing is.

I think it is his heater take off pipe.

Here's a better photo. Yes, Rod is right. It is the heater take off with swaged stainless steel fittings.
The small upper pipe is the vacuum take-off for the PCV valve and goes to the inlet manifold.

My mistake-it is the heater return to the bypass-the take off is from the thermostat elbow.

Dave,
Yes, Viega stainless steel press fittings for 15mm drinking water pipes. My mate is a plumber so I get them at cost and borrowed the press from him for an afternoon although the actual pressing only takes a few minutes.
