MG TD TF 1500 - Dating old tyres.

I'm putting this here because sadly the TC forum looks a bit moribund. Hope it's ok.
The TC that I bought in 2017 from my old mate/accountant Chris Gannon in Melbourne, came with 16" wheels on, and a spare set of 19" with some pretty ancient tyres on them. There's no way they are useable, but nor are they going in the wheelie-bin. I can see one as a clock surround, others as bar stool tops ... whatever. I would love to date them if anyone can help. You might see in the photos a reference to "Weftless" next to the Dunlop Super "90" which might give a clue; and what might be a date imprint - Z63 4650. In another photo there's a faint Trade Mark.
Any help with dating these would be appreciated.
Thanks all,
John.

Date coding wasn't required in the States until 1971 so I don't know if it applies here or not. If you were reading a modern tire then 46 would be the week it was made and 50 the year.

UK at least, before the year 2000 the date code was three digits, first two digits for week and third digit for the year of that decade. For tyres made in the 1990s a decade symbol in the shape of a triangle was added.

This at least goes back to the 1980s but it might go back further decades.

So 188 = week 18 of year 1988

and 188 (triangle) = week 18 of 1998.

You might be better off to figure out exactly what tire model that is. Often they don't span more than about 10 years and you could probably get pretty close using that technique.

Matthew Magilton - if you're there, I know you have a heap of knowledge about original fittings etc - these tyres would almost certainly have been bought in Melbourne somewhere, I'm guessing in the 60s; any of the markings mean anything to you?
Thanks to others above for your input.
John.

John
had a poke about and found this- You should buy it to go with your tyres----------

Looks like Super 90s came out in '48
Notice the side section of the tread has scallops all the way round-
looking at your pic there are none of those and your tyre looks like a retread so the case might be older than your estimated 60's
Z63 4650.
I'm not sure what the Z63 would be apart from maybe 1963 but Dunlop has always had the 4 number system as far as I know so November 1950 by that, then worn out and retreaded---????

If it's four digits for date of manufacture could the Z63 be the place it was made, and could it be o/0 Z63 or is the o/0 just a stamp mark.
