MG TD TF 1500 - Door hinge lubrication
What is the best way to lubricate the door hinges? Oil or grease? They have new pines (oversized) and are freshly painted.. |

I imagine that on assembly you used grease, but after that an occasional drop of oil. Dave H |

They are easy to remove. So I would say regular cleaning and grease. One by one. Laurent. |

With what little use these collector cars get a drop of oil seasonally would be more than they got their first 20 years of life when they were regularly used “drivers”. Unless you are using it for nightly pizza delivery you should be fine. Regards, Tom |

When I refurbished my original hinges I drilled them out and I pressed in self lubricating sintered bronze bushes, although I imagine a drop of a light machine oil wouldn't do any harm once in a while. Cheers Peter TD 5801 |
