MG TD TF 1500 - Driveshaft numbers.
Stripped my driveshaft down to repaint it. Figured I would document the numbers on the shaft. Yokes are Hardy Spicer There is a 400 on the shaft and up by the weld at the transmission yoke there is a arrow and a different V with another mark that I cant make out. There is a C or another stamping near it. On the yoke shaft is the number D2703 ![]() |

Word about the loose ends if you have them both off for new bearings Bruce. They are different if you didn't catch that. Check the mounting of one to both the rear end and gear box flange before you assemble them to make sure you have them on the correct end of the shaft. |

LaVerne. Interesting tad bit of information. I did not know that or even would have suspected it. I guess I’ve been lucky when reassembling driveline to have never swapped them end for end. Good to know Bill Chasser TD-4834 |

Tpo be honest Bill i can't recall if it was the bolt pattern or the clearance of the ears. These came to me in pieces in a bag and when I put the first one on I had to remove the damn thing because it didn't work....It may well have been a clearance issue, but I do remember they are not interchangable. |

Thanks LaVerne I’ll take a closer look at my spares. Bill Chasser TD-4834 |

Did not find the arrow on the yoke of mine. Just numbers |

I measured the bolt pattern on the two ends of the drive shaft which is still on the table and they are different. |
