MG TD TF 1500 - Early Two Bow Top
Anyone know the meaning of these marks. The LH/RH presumably mean the side of the car to which they are attached. Also, does anyone have a picture of these attached to the vehicle? ![]() ![]() |

My guess would be marks made by a previous restorer to locate the pads after restoring the interior panels or underlying woodwork. |

Thanks Lew.... Don’t believe that the car had been restored to any significant extent before it came to me. Bill |

Bill, Just checked my TF (Feb 1955 ) hood bow & it has the identical stampings. Cheers John |

Interesting that the TD and TF have the same stampings. I would have expected something different between 2 and 3 bow tops too. Someone that has both TDs and TFs should weigh in if these parts are the same between cars. If so it's probably just a casting number from the factory. |

I will have to check on my two bow. I wonder if these are made with this marking from the factory so the assembler knows which part to weld where. |
