MG TD TF 1500 - Engine stabilizer bracket
On a TD is there a way to replace the engine stabilizer bracket (411-040) without removing the radiator? |
Mort 50 TD |
Mort, You need to service the braket? The link is a turnbuckle and you can draw it in, shorten it to remove it, as long as the threads cooperate. Looks like the hose, fan and pulley, maybe water pump will likely have to come off, but I'd think the radiator can stay. Do you know any mechanics that moonlight as open heart surgeons? |

Mort, absolutely can be done without removing the rad. Helps if the bonnet is off. The nut at the water pump end can be a bear, but it is doable. |

I have done it on a TF... lots of patience required... Dave |

Len, Are you implying that your bushings are 1 piece?? SPW |
Steve Wincze |
Yes Steve each washer has the "real" rubber bonded to it. 4 pieces needed for each vehicle. |

Mort - I bought two originals a couple of years back for a 51 & 53, both the same. Drop me a line and I'll tell you where I got them. JR |
