MG TD TF 1500 - Fuel Cap
I am looking for a new fuel cap for my TD. No one seems to have one in stock. I ordered one from Moss Europe. It is nice and shiney, but the hinge area is poorly made and doesn’t provide a good fit. Anyone aware of a source or a suitable replacement that wouldn’t look too far off from the original. I would need a collar as well. The original that came with the tank is not of good quality. Thanks, Bill |

Bill, did you try Abingdon Spares? Don't know the quality, but their stuff is usually pretty nice. PJ |

I have a useable cap. No tank collar. If you are still interested let me know and I'll dig it out and take a few pictures. George |

Original stainless cap likely from a TD. Arrows show a couple dents and scrapes. It would polish up nicely, but the dents are pretty much impossible to get out. The internal is crusty original, with likely the remnants of an original seal? Looks like a flat o-ring, but is pretty chewed up.

George, not sure if I can use it unless I can get it to fit the collar and the collar I have is part of the problem. Maybe I can get the collar off the old tank. How much do you want for it? |
