MG TD TF 1500 - Fuel Tank What are these holes for
I am now finishing the fuel tank on my restoration. I noted that the bracket on the bottom of the tank has 4 holes on each side of t. 2 on the bottom and two on the edge of each side. What are they used for? I know there is a pad that clips to the frame where these set, but is there something that attaches to these? ![]() |

My thought would be to allow air to circulate and any water ingress to drain |

Been a long time since I installed a fuel tank, but I seem to recall that there's a rubber pad that is attached there to separate the tank from the frame. See Moss P.41 #29. Bud |

One rubber mount is still on the right frame. Bud

I agree with JK that they are either weep holes or another case of the fuel tank being used for a different car. |

I am always amazed at how many parts were used or modified from other cars. As these are at the ends, It would appear they will be covered by the pad on the frame. |

My TF does not have those holes. PJ |

Possibly indexing holes for a stamp press? Regards, Tom |
