MG TD TF 1500 - Generator Advice
Re: 1950 MGTD Time to replace my "original" generator!! Looking at new replacement from Moss Motors. Anyone had any experience with this one? Is it pre-polarized for positive ground? Does the original pulley fit the shaft of the new one. Any advice on what I should consider before purchasing a new one? Thanks for help! Eddie |

Why not rebuild it? See http://www.ttalk.info/Holcombe.htm |

As Holcombe has been gone for years, Good directions if your field windings and armature are good. Armatures often pop up on eBay. I ran one of the early repros , may have had push on terminals- for several years with no problems. Anything new will need to be polarized, simple, read the archives. . George |

Eddie, I had Star Auto Electric rebuild my generator several years ago. They also replaced the old oiled bearing with a sealed bearing. Star Electric (Generators) - Mike https://www.starautoelectric.com No financial connection, just a satisfied customer. Jim |

Generators don't really wear out. You just keep rebuilding them. Cheaper and better quality than replacing. |
