MG TD TF 1500 - generator part two
In my previous post I mentioned that I found some bits and pieces for a generator. And some missing parts wanted. The generator housing carries a few numbers who are not clear to me '' c39 pv ( that one I know ) followed by DA 41 ( unclear to me ) 12 V arrow 1050 . the 1050 number is also unclear to me . Could someone shine some light on this please ? I suspect the gen is from a TC ( not sure ) the fan of the pulley is partly dome shaped and aluminium . Thanks in advance, Gerard |

Gerald... the 1050 I believe is the date code... Nov.......1950. I know others will chime in regarding the other #'s. .. CR |

Thanks CR. Do you know if the driving end shield from the generator is the same as from a MGA or other Lucas generators? Thanks Gerard |

Gerard Part numbers for MG-T and MGA on pp 10 and 11. You may be able to determine if parts interchange. http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/books/pdf/Lucas_equipment_1948-1962_cars.pdf Everything that you need to know about generators. The very early TD had a one piece pulley/fan that does resemble the TC items. Have only seen one on a car that used to be in the area. George |
