MG TD TF 1500 - Happy Birthday TD 4139
TD 4139 turns 73 years old today.
I bought the car in 1971. It was pretty much a rolling basket case. My brother and I restored it, painting it in cream. It stayed this way for the next 45 years. When I retired, I wanted to try and bring the car back to what it was from the dealer. I say dealer, because the car has a few accessories. Separate temp gauge, heater, and period sports coil. For the restoration I added a correct radio (I found the original antenna holes, so it did have a radio at one time). The car was brought back to its original woodland green color. ![]() ![]() |

Congrats, Bruce. My Lazarus, TD 10855, turns 72 tomorrow. Found him 35 years ago this month and got him on the road 28 years ago in 1995. Repainted to his original Autumn Red. Was once white (original dealer weekend repaint). See http://www.ttalk.info/Tech/OldFriend.htm. Bud |

Looking sharp Bruce. Bill and I would be glad to have you on our next drive. Tentatively to get burgers in Pine Grove and then stopping back in Sutter Creek for desert. |

That sounds good. I had to repaint one of the front fenders, but should have that done by next week. |
