MG TD TF 1500 - Head for sale
A mate has a late TD head for sale. No valves just the head. It's in good nick. He's asking $350 so if a local owner needs one give me a yell. Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

I have one on this side of the pond as well. Suitable for supercharged application, large valves. |

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that a bit expensive? Or have heads gone up that much in price in the last few years? |

How thick on yours Len? |

If you can get a good original head here for $350 AUD you're doing pretty well Gene. That's about $265 US. If they're cheaper in the States it's probably because about 70% of TD's ended up there. Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

When searching for a round-port head for 'the53' I came across (and bought) a 168425 (4/44) head. Big valves, 2.962" thk. Paid $225US and was glad to get it. This was about 6 years ago. Bud |

Peter...correct...forgot to look at where it was. Gene |

Bud, Just to clarify,168425 is a TF 1250 Cylinder Head code, not Wolseley 4/44! The Wolseley Head is cast in as 168422 as was the late TD I believe. The '5' in the TF1250 was stamped in, not cast in. It indicated the bigger TF valves. It still fascinates me that our friends in UK don't get this detail right in written up articles. Cheers Rob Grantham TF3719("Aramis"),TF9177("Athos"). |

Thanks, Rob. I thought was a TF 1250 head, but the seller said 4/44. It gave me what I wanted. Bud![]() |
