MG TD TF 1500 - Helmet type battery connectors
Hard to find anymore, any clues to who might have them, hopefully with original style cables? PJ |

http://www.britishwiring.com/category-s/269.htm At bottom of page. I made my own cables with these, easy to do. These are bronze. I used Duplicolor Argent Silver wheel paint and they look like lead. George |

PJ I have a set of brass ones without cables. Pretty easy to solder cables in . British wiring has the cables very close to the original. Happy to send your way. |

Regarding the helmet cap.
I wanted to use the helmet caps for my correct TD restoration. I read the issues with using a screw into the lead post. Here is my fix. I drilled a hole into the top center of the lead posts. I put a threaded insert into the post. I used a brass machine screw that will hold the caps on. This will allow the caps to be put on and off without issues with the threads. It will also provide a bit more secure cap. In my pictures the caps and the screws are brass. The ones on my car are the lead cap. I nickel plated the screw so it will match the cap. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for all the replys, I think I'll use Rhode Island wiring. Not too keen on the Brass helmets, but we'll see. PJ |
