MG TD TF 1500 - Hood/Bonnet gap
I was wondering what is an acceptable gap at the lower edge of the Bonnet (Hood in USA). I have about 1 1/4 " gap at the lower edge near to the firewall. What should I aim for as a reasonable fit please ? |

Mel, Here's an example that shows hardly any gap at all. Probably have to zoom it in. PJ![]() |

Mel, if you haven't seen this it might be helpful. http://www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgtd/mgtd_bonnet.htm Tim TD26711 |

I think that 1/4" is top end of the range that is just about acceptable, but 1/8" would be better. Dave H |

Thanks for the info I seem to have a reasonable front/rear gap - the link about bonnet adjustment will still be useful I think I will have to re-drill the wing mounting bolt holes to get the wing higher to meet the bonnet bottom edge better ! |

There should be no reason to modify holes unless the parts are not original to the car because of damage. Pics of your issues would be helpful |
