MG TD TF 1500 - Horn connections

I am connecting the twin tone horns on my TD while installing a new wiring harness. The cables for the horns are labled "feed" and "ground". The horn works no matter which way I connect it, but should there be a difference or does it not matter which wire inserts where?
Any suggestions?

I wouldn't think so. When I fitted mine there was no indication as to which wire went where. I made sure though that I fitted rubber grommets where the harness enters the cutout in the hemispheres. Cheers

The horns are not polarity sensitive and are not electrically grounded, they're floating. Bud

But, if the wires are not correct, could a wrench or screwdriver touch the horn and chassis at the same time and create a dead short???

Bill, the horns' electrical components are insulated from the physical bodies of the horns. Physically grounding the horns would have zero effect unless there were a short circuit in the wiring. Bud

Thanks for this discussion and your thoughts. Since the horns work no matter how they are connected, the components are insulated, and connections are not polarity sensitive, I conclude it doesn't matter which wire goes where. I have replaced the rubber grommets with fresh new ones and am good to go. Thanks again!
