MG TD TF 1500 - How long will this be pretty?

I just have done a paint job ;-).

If you can keep oil and gas from leaking on it, it will last a long time.

Depends on what you coated it with POR 15 Heat paint lasts me about 2-3 years before it starts flaking.

Oil will be the biggest issue for your color.

It is a ceramic based material (KSD Heat XTL Keramiklack) up to 1200°C from a German supplier.

When I did mine I didn't know that the nuts & weird looking brackets that secure the exhaust manifold were also originally coated. Cheers

Surface preparation is very important for paint durability. If it was blasted to give a perfectly clean surface and not touched by hand prior to painting it will last longer. You really should wear cotton gloves when handling anything like that for painting (no, I don't either!).

Peter: I am nut sure the nuts were aluminized but just plain cad. The clamps were certainly aluminized though.

Question is answered - only one day if the car is driven.

I followed the instructions of the manufacturer. Before using I'd asked him if a primer is necessary. That was negated. Just spray and everything will be okay, wait 24 hours, no need for careful heating.

And yes I'd degreased it two times( 1. wash petrol, 2. degreaser from my paintshop).

American Stripping in Sacramento CA aluminized my exhaust manifold and clamps.

The surface has no sheen, so dirty hands will probably make their mark. Oil from the breather tube between the valve cover and air cleaner on my TF dripped onto the manifold. It burned off. But you can see some other splatters didn't in this photo. I'm still happy with the look.
