MG TD TF 1500 - how to fresh-up the hood or Tonneau
Dear friends, My TD 1953 is equipped with a double duck Hood and Tonneau in tan color. Du to the sun and other climate influences, it looks not longer fresh. Did somebody a cleaning job and what kind of material you use? |

Here is a link to the product: https://www.renovointernational.com/car-care/soft-top-reviver.php Dave can you tell us about your experiences with the product? It looks interesting. BTW my car is never out where the soft top or TC will get impacted enough and when I had cleaning issues before I used either Woolite or for spot treatments (ie oily smudge) I used K2R. |

I used it to restore a hood some time ago. Does the job. They have different products for different applications. Its a product that is frequently recommended over here, but others may have more experience than I. Dave H |

You need to use the Fabric Soft Top Cleaner, then their Ultra Proofer. See Guidance and Advice on their website. Dave H |

OK, thank you, sounds good Guenter |

I used it some years back on my Morris Minor-see photo after application. It is good stuff but a messy job. Do mask off everything before application as it drips like hell and would ruin upholstery. Regards Declan |

Used ultraproofer on a 40 years old double duck hood. It was not water proof at all. Cleaned it before (tried to...); Renovo Ultraproofer did nothing.
I think this product is probably good when the hood is just little damaged and just needs regular maintenance. but when there is only the fabric left, it is not enough. So I put some candles on it, melting it with a thermal cleaner so it can penetrate the fabric. Cheaper and much more efficient than commercial products. But the hood is still not clean... Laurent. |
