Hi Hugh, Thankyou for your response. I still have my email to you 'bouncing' back via maelerdemon. Anyway, I am enquiring if you have an original XPEG TF1500 cast iron Thermostat housing. It differs from the XPAG in that there are two(2) threaded outlets on the left hand side not just one for the temperature gauge line. If you have one in stock I would like to purchase it ? Cheers for now. Rob Grantham TF3719("Aramis"),TF9177("Athos"). |

Rob -
I apologize for hijacking the thread. The TF Service Parts List shows: "Water outlet elbow" Part Number AEG102 and "Water outlet elbow" Part Number AEG123 (starting with XPEG engine #1001) My TF-1500 has the original XPEG #977. I'll post a photo of the Water outlet elbow that is on the engine in the next post, and a photo of the outlet in TF9052 with original XPEG #2981 in another post. Is the outlet on XPEG 2981 the one that you are seeking? Can you confirm that XPEG engines before #1001 had an outlet like mine? Learning something about my TF everyday. Thanks, Lonnie TF7211 ![]() |

This is the outlet on my TF7211 with original XPEG 977. The temp gauge probe has been removed. Don't know if the outlet is original to the engine. Lonnie TF7211 ![]() |

This is the outlet on TF9052 with original XPEG 2981. Has two threaded outlets. Thanks for your help, Lonnie TF7211 ![]() |

Lonnie, Appreciate your research work and photos of the TF Thermostat housings. Looks like up tp XPEG motor 1000 the housing for the 1500 may have had the same single outlet as the XPAG 1250. It would be interesting to review when the brass heater outlet nut on the bypass(1500) branch pipe was introduced? Cheers Rob Grantham |

Lonnie, The Thermostat housing I need is the 'later' XPEG type i.e. with the two(2) threaded outlets . One outlet for the heater, one outlet for the temperature gauge line. Cheers Rob Grantham |

one thing to remember is that the two outlets have different threads, mix them up at your peril. The heater is BSPT and the thermostat is American pipe they are 1 pitch different and have different OD's. Ray TF 2884 |

Rob,
RE: When the brass heater outlet nut on the bypass(1500) branch pipe was introduced TF Service Parts List shows that the "Connecting pipe - pump" also changed with XPEG1001. The Parts List shows that the connecting pipe, part number XEG103, without the brass plug was used in XPAG TFs and was used in XPEGs from XPEG501 (first XPEG engine) through XPEG 1000. Starting with XPEG1001, the part number changed to XEG124 and the plug and washer were added to the Parts List. ==== I don't know the chassis number with XPEG1001. My TF7211/XPEG977 has the pipe with the brass plug. It was built 23-Sep-1954 around the time that the pipe was changed. Most TFs built on Thursday 23-Sep had engines with numbers higher than XPEG1001. At least eight had engines below XPEG1001. I don't have information on Friday 24-Sep. Most of the cars built on Monday 27-Sep had engines above XPEG1001. At least four were below XPEG1001. I haven't found engines below XPEG1001 after 27-Sep. Also, my TF7211 had a heater at one time, so I don't know it the pipe was changed for the heater. I have been looking for the water outlet with the dual threaded outlets. If anyone has one they are not using, I would be interested in purchasing it. Thanks Rick |

Lonnie, Again, thankyou for your input on the timing of the TF dual Thermostat dual outlet fitting. I suspect demand from the USA for a heater seemed to have eventually come during the 1500s production. Cheers Rob Grantham |
