MG TD TF 1500 - In Selling TD, Who/What to Use

Hello all.
I am considering selling my 1951 MG TD. I hope it is permissable to ask all you fellow thread-users for recommendations for the best "conduits" to use in this marketing/selling effort. Any/all assistance is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Jerry Chandler

Posting it here's a good start.

Hemmings is my personal go-to. Cars.com is another. Ebay isn't bad if you do it right, I just got a killer deal on an MGA project car.

The MG specific mags allow postings usually at little cost or free for a few months, but you have to wait for distribution.

A picture and a price on this site might not be a bad idea either. there is also a classified site on this site.

Here's a few ideas in addition to what's been mentioned:

List on local British Car/MG club websites and in newsletters.

Avoid Autotrader, even the classic section. Expensive and not effective, in my experience.

Participate in local car shows and put a For Sale sign on it.

List on Bringatrailer.com (don't know what it costs). You get the advantage of search engine hits on your listing, as well as a wide audience of car enthusiasts. It seems they've been pretty successful with their auctions, too, if you want to go that route.

Craigslist can be effective, but you have to be able to screen out the scammers, tolerate low-ball emails, and deal with some real idiots.

Special thanks to:

M Andrus;

T R M: I cannot seem to figure out a classified link on this site - could you assist in how I should go about that?;

I will try all your suggestions.

I am having some difficulty posting a photo here. Also, no luck so far in finding "classified ad" instructions. If anyone could assist a bit, I will be much obliged! Jerry

Jerry, first you need to be certain that the photo image is in jpg form and is less than 1 Mb in size. At the bottom of the 'Your comment:' box you'll see an option labelled 'Upload a picture'. Click on that 'Upload' and you'll see a window asking you to browse your computer files to the image file that you want to post. Just click on the file name and take it from there. Just don't forget to click on 'Submit' . Bud

Jerry,

Here's another good place for you to sell your TD http://www.nemgtr.org/our-magazine/classified-ads.html

If you're not a member of the New England MG T register, than even if its for only a few months, you can take advantage of the Classified Ad section, to sell your TD; plus you'll know your TD is going to a caring owner.
