MG TD TF 1500 - Instrument faceplate color

Anyone know of a rattle can paint that closely matches the tach and speedometer faceplate color. I'm not going to repaint the faceplates just the trim rings.

Tim, when I was doing 'The53' I recall running into a spray can at Loews that matched the trim rings quite well. Unfortunately, the can's amoung the many things that didn't make the trip down here. I should get to Loews sometime in the next week and I'll see if I can recognize it. Bud

Don't forget if you can find a good formula most automotive paint suppliers can fill a rattle can for you. Problem with most automotive paints though is the metallics are way too big.

Tim, google 'valspar spray paint colors'. I only get to Loews once a week on my way to buy <$2/gal gas at BJ's. Bud

That color sure seems dark but we know how inaccurate pictures online can be.

But what are you going to do for the numbers, increment lines, Jaeger logo and really tiny part numbers, etc?

John, like I said in the OP, I'm not going to paint the faceplates. They are in acceptable condition. It is the trim rings that really need attention. Funny that both of them are in bad condition (rust, peeling paint) but the both faces are in good condition.

Tim,
I will be doing the same soon so I will find out if the paint matches which it should as I have replaced both dials.
